Trackex is designed as a fully automated expense tracking application where SMS-based transaction parsing is the
core functionality.
The app requires the READ_SMS permission to read transactional messages from banks and financial
institutions.
Without this permission, the application cannot function or provide its primary features.
How we use SMS data:
- Automatically detect financial transactions
- Extract amount, date, and merchant details
- Categorize expenses and update dashboard
- Map transactions to accounts
Important:
- The app accesses only transactional SMS messages related to financial activities
- Personal or non-financial messages are not accessed
2. Data Processing & Storage
- All SMS data is processed locally on your device
- No SMS data is uploaded to any server
- No data is shared with third parties
- No external storage or cloud syncing of SMS content
3. Data Security
Your data remains on your device and is protected by your device’s security systems such as PIN, password, or
biometric authentication.
4. User Rights and Control
- Permission Requirement: SMS permission is required for the core functionality of Trackex.
Without this permission, the app will not function.
- Permission Management: You can grant or revoke SMS permission anytime from device settings.
However, revoking it will disable the app’s primary features.
- Data Deletion: You can delete all your data by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.
